Consumption stamp for alcohol, tobacco to be compulsory in Transnistrian region

Chisinau, 17 March /MOLDPRES/ - The alcoholic and tobacco products imported to Moldova and meant for the consumption on the territory non-controlled by Moldova’s constitutional authorities are liable to the compulsory marking with consumption stamps as of 1 May 2021.  

According to the institution, the way of purchasing, use and application of consumption stamps is similar to the one of the excise stamps. In this respect, the legislation in force establishes the obligation of putting stamps during the fabrication of the alcoholic and tobacco production – till the import of this production to Moldova is processed.   

„The consumption stamps must be applied on the product’s packing, on specially envisaged places and indexed in the annexes to the regulations approved under government decision, so that the opening of the packing ensures the deterioration of the stamp glued. If the individual packing of the product is wrapped up with cellophane and is provided for with a transparent protection cover, the stamps are applied under this cover,’’ the State Fiscal Service (SFS) said.    

SFS recommends that the concerned tax payers preliminarily undertake needed actions, in order to get consumption stamps, to adjust to the provisions of the legislation in force.
