Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/ - The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) has recommended that, in order to prevent cases of intoxications with strawberries,  fruits should be purchased from authorized places or registered by the Agency, which are erified by ANSA inspectors and accompanied by testing reports.

According to the institution, the consumer has right to ask the trader for a document which shows the inoffensiveness of the product (testing reports or certificate of inoffensiveness). At the same time, the consumer must make sure that the strawberries bought are: intact, sound (products hit by rotten staff or are perished, because of which they become improper for consumption), clean, practically without visible materials, with fresh look, but unwashed, without pests, without deteriorations caused by pests, with calix, without abnormal external dampness, without alien smell and/or taste.

Also, ANSA informs that the sale of food products in other places than authorized ones (national roads, streets) is part of the illicit trade.

The strawberries commercialized at present on Moldova’s market are imported from Greece and Turkey and the native ones will be available as late as in the second half of next April, the National Food Safety Agency added.
