Moldovan deputy premier meets special representative on gender of OSCE chairperson-in-office

Chisinau, 24 March /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Olga Cebotari today had a courtesy meeting with Liliana Palihovici, Special Representative on Gender of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, the Office for Reintegration Policy has reported.

Cebotari congratulated Palihovici on her appointment, wishing her success and prodigious activity on this important and paramount dimension.

The dialogue was focused on issues related to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the gender dimension in terms of socio-economic and security and defense.

Several strategic initiatives were discussed, which could positively influence the situation and rights of women in Moldova, including those of confidence-building on gender between both banks of the Dniester. In this context the willingness to boost the dialogue at national and international level was expressed in order to achieve outstanding results and ensure the active promotion of gender.

The deputy premier assured to activate the dialogue with the implementing institutions of the National Program for implementation of Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security to achieve the goals set at national level and set long-term priorities.
