Public health consultative council under prime minister of Moldova holds meeting

Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi today summoned a meeting of the public health consultative council under the prime minister. At the event, the council members considered the need of introducing a string of additional measures, in order to optimize the process of management of the pandemic situation, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.      

The consultative council’s members examined more proposals of priority actions, which would contribute to ceasing the extension of the infection in Moldova. Among them, there is the enhancement of the testing capacities, strengthening the capacities of the primary medicine, setting up a crisis centre which is to coordinate the communication and information process. The institution would also have the task to develop partnerships with important actors, in order to increase the communication capacities as to the pandemic situation, monitoring the people who contacted with infected people, as well as monitoring the immunization process.

At the same time, specialists emphasized the need of endowment with additional equipment and centralized oxygenation systems in the intensive therapy sections, taking into account their overloading in the last period.    

Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi said that the evolution of the pandemic situation remained alarming in Moldova. He noted that presently it was extremely necessary that all decision-makers, including the ones of the parliament, join their efforts to consolidate the national public health system and stop the spread of the Sars-Cov-2 virus.
