Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) welcomes the decision of Estonia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry from 31 March this year, under which the approval of the strategy on the Moldovan-Estonian cooperation for development for 2021-2024, with a budget of 3.3 million euros, was announced, the MAEIE press service has reported.

According to the document approved by the Estonian authorities, Moldova remains a priority country for Estonia’s policy as to cooperation for development. Thus, starting from 2006, Estonia has provided Moldova with financial assistance worth over nine million euros, with which more than 200 projects were implemented in such sectors as: democracy and good governance, rural development, education and health.

Through the adoption of this strategy, Estonia will further back Moldova’s European aspirations, focusing the projects scheduled on the strengthening of the good governance through solutions based on information technologies, as well as on the support through various bilateral programmes of small and medium-sized enterprises. Among the priorities of the new strategy as to the cooperation for development for Moldova, there is also the consolidation of the modern education and of learning during all life.

In this respect, the head of the Moldovan diplomacy, Aureliu Ciocoi, addressed a message of gratitude to his Estonian counterpart, Eva-Maria Liimets, for Estonia’s willingness to provide expertise and the experience of the Tallinn authorities in the process of Moldova’s modernization and development in the European integration process.
