Moldovan acting PM meets U.S. Ambassador to Moldova

Chisinau, 2 April /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi had a meeting with U.S. Ambassador to Moldova Dereck J. Hogan, at the government today. The officials analyzed the current political situation in Moldova, as well as the epidemiological one, including the impact of this phenomenon on the economic activities and the social life on the whole, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

The acting PM referred to the latest actions undertaken by the authorities to combat the pandemic, stressing the need of a rigorous control over the observance of the restrictions imposed. At the same time, Aureliu Ciocoi did not exclude the possibility of toughening the restrictions, if the situation does not improve.  

The sides stressed the importance of supplying the citizens with anti-COVID-19 vaccine, as the most efficient way of protection from the infection. In this respect, the officials discussed and analyzed present possibilities and the phase reached as to Moldova’s supply with vaccines.   

The acting prime minister expressed appreciations to the United States for the valuable assistance provided to Moldova on the economic and sanitary dimension, as well as to back the Moldovan authorities’ efforts in the fight with the pandemic.
