Moldovan parliament speaker, acting cabinet members discuss pandemic situation in Moldova

Chisinau, 5 April /MOLDPRES/ - The evolution of the pandemic situation, efficiency of the new restrictions and the process of vaccination in Moldova today evening were discussed by Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii with the members of the acting cabinet led by acting prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi. Attending the weekly meeting, summoned by the speaker, was also the Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.    

The participants in the meeting analyzed the present situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, which continues to be alarming and which records a large number of deaths and people in intensive therapy sections. They assessed the current restrictions and considered possibility to revise some of them, as well as introduce other restrictions.  

Zinaida Greceanii said that the central and local authorities’ actions must ensure the protection of the lives and health of the citizens. According to the parliament speaker, vaccines should be urgently purchased for the mass immunization of people. This will allow us returning to a normal life as soon as possible, the speaker noted.   

Also, the officials tackled the social and economic situation in Moldova through the light of the emergency state, declared by the parliament, for the period 1 April – 30 May all over the country. In the context, the government members informed about the actions undertaken and the ones due to be taken, analyzing possible measures of economic support both of the business sector and of each citizen separately.   

In the beginning of each week, the parliament speaker summons the acting cabinet members, in order to analyze and evaluate the epidemiological situation in Moldova.
