Almost 60,000 people paid for medical policy in first quarter

Chisinau, 13 April /MOLDPRES/- About 60 thousand people paid in the first quarter of this year the compulsory health insurance policy in a fixed amount. The figure is about six thousand higher than the same period last year and more than half of them paid through MPay.
According to CNAM data, the volume of financial means accumulated in the first three months of 2021 in the compulsory health insurance funds exceeded 106.5 million lei, increasing by over ten million compared to the first quarter of 2020.
Out of the total number of payers, over 40 thousand benefited from discount of 50 percent. Another over 17,000 people, owners of agricultural land, benefited from 75% discount.
In 2021, given the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of people who paid the health insurance policy through MPay increased significantly.
Thus, over 40 thousand citizens or 55% of the total number of payers paid the policy through MPay, up by about 11 thousand than in the first three months of 2020.
According to CNAM statistics, almost 88 percent of Moldovan citizens have compulsory health insurance.
