Moldovan wine gets 78 medals at two world specialized contests

Chisinau, 19 April /MOLDPRES/ - Moldovan wine-makers have got 70 medals (34 golden and 36 silver ones) and a mention at one of the most important international contests of wines, Mundus Vini. At Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, the Moldovan wine won eight medals, of which two GRAND GOLD medals, five golden ones and a silver medal.
The participation in the competition was backed by the National Office of Vine and Wine (ONVV), which constantly promotes the quality wine and the diversification of the export markets.
The 2021 issue of the competition Mundus Vini was held in the German city of Neustadt on 23-28 February. ONVV supported the participation of 75 wine samples from 31 wines of Moldova in the contest. As many as 7,300 wines from 39 countries took part in the competition in all.
Another competition in which Moldovan wine-makers participated was Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. For the first time in history, the contest hosted a session of evaluation conceived exclusively for rose wines - Rose Selection Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, before the main competition. With the support of ONVV, 24 rose wines from 13 wineries of Moldova participated in the contest. Two of them got Grand Gold medals.
Rose Selection Concours Mondial de Bruxelles was held on 1-5 March and 1,000 rose wines participated in the competition.
