As many as 341 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 19 April /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 2,712 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 341 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which three import ones. As many as 246,238 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 7 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians – 2, medical assistants –2, auxiliary staff - 3.

As many as 2,798 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 260 are in extremely serious condition (51 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 4,999 persons are treated at home with light and moderate forms of coronavirus and 15,992 are under supervision at home.

Another 1,093 people have been treated. As many as 232,328 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 20 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 5,591 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus also killed a medical assistant from the Ungheni District Hospital. As many as 113 medical employees have died because of the COVID-19 infection till present.
