Chisinau, 20 April /MOLDPRES/- Jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights in cases related to the Republic of Moldova and types of appeals to court by citizens of our country were the main topics discussed at a meeting between President Maia Sandu and ECHR President Robert Spano, held in Strasbourg on 19 April, the presidential press service has reported.

"Many Moldovan citizens who do not find justice in national justice system appeal to the ECHR. I reaffirmed my commitment to reform the judiciary in the Republic of Moldova to reduce cases of abuse, procedural or human rights violations in the national system, so that citizens can get solutions to their cases at home, " Maia Sandu said.

The head of state reiterated Moldova's commitment to continue working with the ECHR and taking over good practices from the jurisdiction of the Court, which ensures adequate and full respect for human rights in our country.
