Chisinau, 20 April /MOLDPRES/ - The European Commission today published a regulation, under which the transit of ice-cream produced in Moldova will be allowed through the territory of the European Union, in order to reach consumers from states of African continent and countries of the Middle East.
According to the director general of the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA), Vladislav Cotici, this is an important decision for Moldova’s economy, which will allow economic agents exporters to reduce the expenses for the carriage of dairy products, such as ice-cream, to other countries.
”We are involved in a comprehensive dialogue with the European Commission on the process of extending the list of animal origin products (dairy products) exported by Moldova to the European Union market. This includes the verification of the compliance of the system managed by ANSA with the EU rigours, both at the central level and at the one of the territorial structures, including the system of national laboratories and the fitting of the units producing animal origin goods,’’ Vladislav Cotici said.
