Moldovan electoral body takes note of financial reports of parties

Chisinau, 21 April /MOLDPRES/- The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) took note of the reports on financial management of political parties for 2020. Thus, of the 50 parties that had to report, only 41 met the deadline, four parties submitted late reports and another five presented nothing.

According to the CEC, no reports were submitted on the financial management by: Political Party Labor Party, Political Party NEW HISTORICAL OPTION, United Moldova Party - Единая Молдова, Political Party RENAISSANCE, For People, Nature and Animals Party.

Following requests from the Agrarian Party of Moldova and the Progressive Society Party, the CEC decided to retain their obligations to submit reports through the SSI Financial Control and give them additional time to comply with legal requirements.

However, the commission warned the following political parties about the obligation to respect the presentation of the financial report: European Party, Conservative Party, Socialist Party of Moldova, Democratic Action Party, Progressive Society Party, Agrarian Party of Moldova, Political Party Centrist Union of Moldova, Political Party Christian-Social Union of Moldova, Political Party Green Ecologist Party, Republican Party of Moldova, Law and Justice Party, Political Party WE, PACE Political Party and the Democracy at Home Political Party.

Under the Contravention Code, CEC head will summon the persons responsible for liability in the political parties and will set reports of contravention.

At the same time, given the current epidemiological situation, the Commission decided to give the political parties an additional 14 days to submit the missing information and remove errors from the reports.
