Moldovan finance ministry first ever issues state bonds for seven years

Chisinau, 21 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Finance Ministry, at a tender on the placement of state transferable securities on the primary market, today issued state bonds for seven years, at an annual rate of fixed interest rate of 6.5 per cent, for the first time in Moldova’s history. The bid was covered at a level of 107 per cent, with state bonds issued amounting to about 75 million lei against 70 million lei bided.
The main buyers were the banks-primary dealers and institutional investors.
The Finance Ministry will issue this financial instrument regularly and will enhance its liquidity through its operations of reopening the issuance.
So far, the Finance Ministry has issued only state bonds for a period of 2,3 and 5 years or ‘’their issuance for a term of 7 years is a major step towards the completion of the yields’ curve.’’
