Moldovan composer celebrates 65th birth anniversary

Chisinau, 21 April /MOLDPRES/- Composer Vladimir Ciolac, associate professor and choir conductor, Master of Arts is celebrating 65th birth anniversary today.

He taught composition, orchestration, reading symphonic scores, arranging, choral conducting. Founder and leader of the student choir Gavriil Musicescu of the Department of Music Pedagogy of the Academy (1995-2003), which became a laureate of international competitions. Participant in the annual international music festival New Music Days in Chisinau.

He composed chamber symphonic and instrumental creations, but the most important place in his creation is occupied by choral music.

Vladimir Ciolac is a member of the Union of Composers and Musicologists and the Union of Musicians of Moldova, winner of the composition competitions of the Union of Composers and Musicologists of Moldova, holder of the Composition Competition Award dedicated to the 50th anniversary of UNESCO and UN (Chisinau).

He was awarded the honorary title Master of Art. He received church distinctions: the Medal Stefan cel Mare (2008) and the Church Merit Order the third degree (2016). In 2016, he was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the National Commission of the Republic of Moldova for UNESCO.
