Moldovan citizens legally working in Spain likely to get social benefits

Chisinau, 22 April /MOLDPRES/- The third round of negotiations on the draft Agreement on Social Security between Moldova and Spain, as well as the administrative arrangement for the implementation of the Agreement is held on 21-22 April in online format, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection (MSMPS) has reported.
According to the MSPSM, the agreement aims to provide a framework of social guarantees for migrant workers from both states who carry out or have carried out a legal work activity and currently reside in the territory of one of the contracting states, such as: old-age pension, pension survivor, disability pension caused by general illness, pension and disability allowance caused by work accidents and occupational diseases.
The administrative arrangement is the mechanism for implementing the Agreement in social security between the two states, which establishes the conditions and procedures for collaboration and communication between the competent authorities and institutions for the exchange of documents and information necessary to set the right to social benefits.
So far, the Republic of Moldova has concluded 14 agreements in social security based on European principles of proportionality with the following states: Romania, Portugal, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Austria, Estonia, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Belgium, Lithuania, Germany, Turkey , Republic of Belarus.
