Chisinau, 23 April /MOLDPRES/- Parliament with the vote of the majority of MPs approved today granting of additional powers to the government, whose mandate has ended.
The initiative belongs to PSRM lawmakers. They said that following the approval of the document, the ban on the competence to conclude international treaties involving financial commitments for the Republic of Moldova is excluded. Offering these powers to a Government whose mandate has ceased, aims to avoid eminent financial losses, the authors mention.
MPs argue that Parliament has got many letters of intent from specialized central authorities (Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment), which are facing impediment of concluding international treaties with financial content. This makes it difficult and even impossible to turn to good account external financial assistance projects.
