Moldovan MPs appoints new Constitutional Court judge

Chisinau, 23 April /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament adopted, with 56 votes, a decision on the appointment of a judge of the Constitutional Court (CCM) at a plenary meeting today.

Under the decision, Boris Lupascu is appointed as judge of the Constitutional Court for a six-year mandate. The decision enters into force on the date of adoption and can be appealed in court in the term provides for in the Article 209 of the Administrative Code.  

The decision comes after the parliament voted for the cancellation of the decision according to which Domnica Manole was appointed to this office in August 2019.

The opposition lawmakers criticized the decision and announced citizens’ mobilization outside the CCM building.
