Moldovan fine artist would have turned 95 today

Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/- Painter Eleonora Romanescu, holder of the Order of the Republic, winner of the National Prize, People's Artist, would have turned 95 today.
According to art critic Tudor Stăvilă, Eleonora Romanescu was a master of the landscape in the color of our national art.
In 1976 she was awarded the State Prize for the Homeland cycle. In 1986 she was awarded the title of People's Artist, in 1996 - Order of the Republic, in 1997 - Prize of the Fine Artists' Union, in 2013 - National Prize and in 2018 - Order of Cultural Merit of Romania in the rank of Commander, Category C - Fine Arts. The artist has works in private collections in the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Germany, Russia, France, the United States and Canada.
She was awarded the title of honorary citizen of Telenesti district and the gymnasium in her native village, Leuseni, bears her name. In this school, the artist organized a permanent exhibition and donated 44 works to the institution.
Eleonora Romanescu passed away on 4 November 2019.
