Moldovan, Austrian officials broach projects, cooperation

Chisinau, 28 April /MOLDPRES/- Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Aureliu Ciocoi has met with Martin Ledolter, Managing Director of the Austrian Development Agency, the MAEIE press service has reported.

The official thanked the Austrian people, who through the ADA made a valuable contribution for 17 years to the development of Moldova by implementing concrete projects in regional development, labor market, environmental protection and education. 

The Moldovan official highlighted as a priority the importance of investments in the development of the education system, which is a safe investment in the future of the country and the related development of other industries. In this context, Martin Ledolter mentioned the institution's contribution to vocational projects (vocational education), emphasizing the importance of cooperation and attracting large companies, which intend to expand their presence in the economy of the Republic of Moldova and need training with specific skills.

The officials agreed via concrete projects to conduct in the near future the exchange of experience in the university, academic and research field with the profile institutions in Moldova.

The sides also referred to the development of environmentally friendly projects, such as waste processing, drinking water supply, restoration of water treatment plants, which will contribute to safer communities.

At the end, the Moldovan diplomat invited the director of the Austrian Development Agency to pay a working visit to Moldova and voiced hope that in three years both countries will be able to organize a calendar of joint events to mark the 20th anniversary of cooperation on official development assistance.
