Chisinau, 29 April /MOLDPRES/ - The International Trade Centre (ITC), in partnership with the European Union Delegation in Moldova and the Moldovan Economics and Infrastructure Ministry (MEI), on 28 April organized the first meeting of the sides interested in the carrying out of the project, EaP Trade Helpdesk. The project will boost Moldova’s commerce with the European Union and the Eastern Partnership countries.

The project, with duration of five years, regards the fostering of the economic and trade relations between the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries and the European Union, as well as in the EaP region.

As a result of the project’s implementation, the enterprises from the Eastern Partnership will have enhanced access to comprehensive, truthful and transparent commercial information on the EaP and EU regions through the EaP Trade Helpdesk portal. The online assistance centre, available through the portal, will allow enterprises to report the problems related to the export and import and get practical solutions from relevant national institutions.

„Moldova is an active participant in the Eastern Partnership, which facilitated the Association Agreement, which allowed the country’s citizens to travel without visas to EU and benefit from commerce without taxes. The expected results of the EaP Trade Helpdesk will be got only through joint efforts and through a consolidated cooperation, which will contribute to the development of an efficient information space for enterprises and all interested sides involved in the international trade,’’ the state secretary at MEI, Iuliana Dragalin, said.    .

Launched in late 2019, the EaP Trade Helpdesk project is implemented by ITC – a common agency of the United Nations Organization and the World Trade Organization. The project is backed by the European Union within its EU4Business initiative.
