More than 3,000 policemen ensure public order in Moldova on Easter

Chisinau, 4 May /MOLDPRES/ - About 3,000 policemen, carabineers and students of the Interior Ministry’s (MAI) Stefan cel Mare Academy on 1-3 May were on duty to maintain the public order and safety, both nearby churches and in areas with large number of people.
On this period, the police reacted to 2,888 emergency calls, daily reacting to about 960 notifications.
The most frequent of them were calls as regards conflict situations, followed by information on domestic violence, traffic accidents and disturbance of the public peace and order.
On the concerned period, more criminal files were opened, of which two cases of medium-seriousness bodily injuries, 11 break-ins, four car thefts, five cases of domestic violence and three hooliganism cases.
At the same time, more patrol agents were on roads of Moldova, to monitor the road traffic, ease the movement and enhance the degree of road traffic safety.
Thus, policemen elucidated and documented 67 cases of driving drunk, which led to preventing tragedies in traffic.
Despite the recommendations made, the police pointed out 136 infringements of the public health measures, marked by putting citizens, especially children, to risk, through allowing a large number of people entering churches, both during religious services and during the blessing Easter food.
