Moldovan ballet artist would have turned 75 years

Chisinau, 5 May /MOLDPRES/- Ballet artist Mihail Caftanat, associate professor, People's Artist, Hero of Labor in Vietnam, former honorary president of the Union of Choreographers of Moldova would have turned 75 today.
Mihail Caftanat was born on 5 May 1946 in Chisinau. In 1964 he graduated from the Academic Ballet School in Moscow and became the first ballet soloist of the National Opera and Ballet Theater in Chisinau.
For five years (1980-1985) he worked as a ballet master, leader of the ballet group of the theater in Hanoi, Vietnam.
He has collaborated with Bolshoi Theater in Moscow, ballet theaters in Constanța, Bucharest (Romania), Opera and Ballet Theater in Kiev and Odessa (Ukraine) and Hanoi (Vietnam).
During his career, he was awarded the honorary titles of Honored Artist, 1970, and People's Artist, 1974. Also in 1985, for his contribution to the development of culture, the Vietnamese government awarded him the medal of Hero of Labor in Vietnam.
Mihail Caftanat passed away on 8 September 2014 in Chisinau.
