Customs Service collected over 8 billion lei

Chisinau, 5 May /MOLDPRES/- The Customs Service received over eight billion lei in the first four months of 2021, which is 20% more than the receipts from the same period last year. Despite the crisis caused by the pandemic, the number of revenues is increasing by about 21% compared to 2019 (January-April).
In April the Customs Service collected over 2.2 billion lei from the state budget, 73% more than in the same month of 2020. “During the last month, 46,903 customs declarations were made, and the flow of means of transport constituted 160 463 crossings. The most transited customs posts were Leușeni and Sculeni, with 46,626 and 27,964 crossings, respectively ”, the Customs Service said.
Also in April, information line officers responded to 3,256 requests for information on customs activity. "During the reference period, 713 violations of the customs legislation were found, 332 reports were set on contravention and fines worth over one million lei were applied", the quoted source said.
