Moldovan speaker on official visit to Belarus

Chisinau, 5 May /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Zinaida Greceanii leading a Moldovan delegation pays an official visit to the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on 5-7 May, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.

The delegation also includes MPs Vasile Bolea, chairman of the legal committee on rules and immunities, Radu Mudreac, chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Food Industry, Secretary General of Parliament Adrian Albu, and acting Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ion Perju.

The visit aims at identifying opportunities to boost interparliamentary, socio-economic, investment and cultural cooperation between our countries.

Joint Declaration on Cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova is to be signed.

A lot of bilateral meetings will be held, including with the leadership of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Head of the Secretariat of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Food.

Greceanii and other members of the delegation will hold talks with members of the Moldovan diaspora in the Republic of Belarus.

On the sidelines of the visit, Moldovan officials will go to Logoiski district, Minsk region to lay flowers at Hatin Memorial Complex, a symbol of the gruesome Belarusian people experienced during the Great Patriotic War, when 149 people including 75 children, were burned alive or shot by fascists.

The delegation will also take part in solemn unveiling ceremony in the Belarusian capital of the bust of Ion Soltis, Hero of the Soviet Union, born in Moldova and died in Poland during the 1941-1945 war.

The speaker will sign the Book of Guests of Honor in Minsk.
