5,873 houses purchased so far through First Home program

Chisinau, 5 May /MOLDPRES/- Since the launch of the First Home program in 2018, 5,873 homes have been purchased. Another ten applications have been accepted and guarantee contracts are to be signed, the Ministry of Finance has reported.
According to the institution, the total amount of loans granted by banks is 2.99 billion lei, and the total value of active guarantees is 1.49 billion lei. The amount of compensations granted from the state budget for the partial coverage of the expenses incurred by the beneficiaries for the payment of the mortgage loan within the First Home program is 48.1 million lei.
„Out of the total number of beneficiaries, 1,066 persons benefit from compensations from the state budget within the program First Home 2, 2561 - First Home 3, 884 - First Home 4 and 17 - First Home 5 ”, the Ministry of Finance said.
Of the 5873 beneficiaries, 4,035 are families and 1,838 are unmarried young people. The average age of the applicants is 31.4 years.
Out of the total number of purchased dwellings, 5,491 are located in urban areas, and 382 in rural areas. 5,366 are apartments and 507 private homes.
The beneficiary of the program may be a citizen of the Republic of Moldova, aged between 18 and 50 years, who is officially employed at a state institution or private company in the country and has income from official sources. The share of the initial own participation constitutes 5% of the purchase price of the dwelling.
