Moldovan president got vaccinated

Chisinau, 7 May /MOLDPRES/-  President Maia Sandu today administered the first dose of Astra Zeneca vaccine against COVID-19.

"I want to encourage all citizens of Moldova who have not yet got vaccinated. To do this is very important. Many of us have lost loved ones in this pandemic and many have lost income, wages, jobs. Many suffer because they cannot see their loved ones, they cannot gather with friends and family, or to put an end to these misfortunes, to get out of this pandemic, the only solution is to get vaccinated ", said the head of state after the vaccination procedure.

She noted that in the coming days, there will be a vaccine in the country for all who wish. "Today, the next donation of one hundred thousand doses from Romania will arrive in the country. It is about Astra Zeneca vaccine, we have other types of serum, and in the next period we will be able to bring a vaccine for everyone who wants it. We must be aware of the importance of the process, to inform ourselves from credible sources, because only in this way can we get out of the health and economic crisis ", she said.

Last week, acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi has got vaccinated. 

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, so far, about 685 thousand doses of vaccine against COVID-19 have reached Moldova. On 6 May the first dose of vaccine was got by about 150 thousand people, the second - over 21 thousand. Currently 4 percent of population got vaccinated.
