Third stage of anti-COVID19 vaccination to start in Moldova

Chisinau, 7 May /MOLDPRES/ - The members of the National Committee on Coordination of Immunization today held a meeting to analyze possibility to start the third stage of immunization against COVID-19.
According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), following the discussions, the Committee members stressed the need to gradually launch and organize the new contingents for vaccination, according to the National Plan of Vaccination against COVID-19. Thus, on 11 May, with the launch of the national platform of registration for vaccination, the new contingents, due to be vaccinated against COVID-19, will be approved.
At present, the first and second phases of vaccination continue, which implies the immunization of the medical employees, the people older than 60, with comorbidities and the ones with ages between 18 and 60 years, who have comorbidities, for whom the COVID-19 infection poses a high risk to make serious forms of even die.
About 685,000 doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccine have been received in Moldova so far. On 6 May this year, about 150,000 people received the first dose of vaccine and over 21,000 – the second dose. A new consignment of 100,800 doses of anti-Covid vaccine, donated by Romania to Moldova, is expected today.
