Lithuanian president to visit Chisinau

Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu will meet on 14 May with Lithuanian counterpart Gitanas Nauseda, the presidential press service has reported.

This is the first visit of a Lithuanian president to our country in the last six years.

Discussions between the two officials will focus on opportunities to diversify and deepen bilateral relations, as well as boosting relations between the Republic of Moldova and the EU, Lithuania being a consistent supporter of our country's European integration goals and reforms set out in the Association Agreement with the European Union.

At the end of the visit, the two officials will plant a tree at the Chisinau Botanical Garden, a symbolic gesture of aligning Moldova with the European Union's environmental policy to raise public awareness of environmental issues.
