Single anti-COVID-19 vaccination centre opened in Balti city of Moldova

Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/ - A single anti-COVID-19 vaccination centre was opened in the Balti municipality today. The centre will work at the headquarters of the local Clinical Hospital and will be open for all people interested from Moldova’s northern region.

“This is the first centre where all citizens from the region will be able to be vaccinated, no matter their residence. Given that the first six vaccination centres are for the residents of the Balti city, we had to urgently open another one, accessible for all citizens of Moldova,’’ the Balti mayor, Renato Usatii, said at the opening ceremony.

The mayor also said that, if the centre did not cope with the large number of people willing to be immunized, another room would be prepared.

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, 7,247 doses of vaccine have been administered in Balti so far.
