Chisinau, 12 May /MOLDPRES/- The bakery in Taraclia - Milina has increased prices for several types of bread since yesterday by 2-7 percent, the regional press has reported.
According to the general manager of the company, Alexandr Voinschi, from 11 May the prices for the first and second quality bread, for Borodino bread, the toast bread, other types, have increased, being less than half of the factory's production. The head of the company claims that the increase was caused by several factors, including the increase in the price of the main raw material - flour, which is imported, rising prices for fuel and electricity.
The increase in raw material is inexplicable. "Last year, the flour used for second quality bread cost 4.2 - 4.5 lei per kilogram, and this year we already buy it for 5.8 lei per kg," he said.
The company he runs has not changed prices in the last five years.
It was founded in 1994, and currently has five bread factories - in Taraclia, Comrat, Anenii Noi and Drochia.
