Six percent of Moldovan population vaccinated against COVID-19

Chisinau, 19 May /MOLDPRES/- So far, 253,310 people have got vaccinated against COVID-19 in the Republic of Moldova, which is 6.03 percent of the country's population. Today it was decided to launch the third stage of vaccination of the population against COVID-19.
According to the management of the National Public Health Agency, so far, 785,770 doses of vaccine have reached the country, of which 24570 Pfizer / BioNTech, 152 thousand Sinopharm, 367200 Astra Zeneca, 142 thousand Sputnik V and 100 thousand doses Sinovac. More than 60% of vaccines have already been distributed in the territory.
The country is provided with serum against COVID-19 for a month and a half.
So far, more than 200,000 people have got vaccinated with the first dose of the vaccine, and the booster was administered at 34,306. Vaccine coverage among medical staff is over 80 percent.
Also, of the total number of people immunized against COVID-19, almost 1,300 had moderate side effects.
