Well-known Moldovan composer paid homage at National Library on occasion of 70th birthday anniversary

Chisinau, 19 May /MOLDPRES/ - The National Library of Moldova (BNRM), in cooperation with the Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC), Andrei Lupan Scientific Library, National Agency of Archives, today organized a new edition of the Music Saloon, Knight of harmonies. Gheorghe Mustea at anniversary time, occasioned by the 70th birthday anniversary of academician Gheorghe Mustea.
According to BNRM director Elena Pintilei, also at the Library, an exhibition of books, disks, periodical editions from BNRM collections and manuscripts, photos, instruments, personal objects from the personal archive of the master and the of the National Agency of Archives was inaugurated.
Gheorghe Mustea was born in the Mandresti village, central Telenesti district, on 1 May 1951. He studied ay the Chisinau-based Stefan Neaga music school (1966-1970), Gavriil Muzicescu Arts Institute from Chisinau (1970-1975, 1975-1980). Afterwards, he made probation at the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Dmitri Shostakovich Philharmonic from St. Petersburg (1984-1986). In 1980, Gheorghe Mustea became laureate of the composition contest from Moscow, presenting the concert for orchestra No 1 and in 1990 – laureate of the State Prize for wuth opera on historical subject Alexandru Lapusneanu. He is People’s Artist, holder of the Order of the Republic, university professor at the Music, Theatre and Fine Arts Academy, whose rector he was during 1999-2002.
