Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/- The weather this spring is cooler compared to other years, as there is widespread cooling of surface temperatures in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean, according to the State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) of the Republic of Moldova.

According to SHS, this phenomenon is called La Niña and occurs on average once every 3-4 years. "Thus, polar air currents penetrate more to the southern extremities of the northern hemisphere. However, this favors the formation of several cyclones in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. The continent of Europe, including the territory of the Republic of Moldova, is influenced by the Atlantic cyclones ", SHS said.

SHS said that this spring "the weather is cooler, but the average temperature is around the norm, only in some places being 1-2 degrees lower."

This week, the weather in our country is determined by several weather warnings - atmospheric instability, heavy rain and strong wind, +13 +20 degrees Celsius during the day, and +5 +10 degrees at night.
