More roads of Moldova hit by last days' heavy rains

Chisinau, 24 May /MOLDPRES/ - The heavy rains from 22 and 23 May hit more road segments from seven districts of Moldova. In the wake of the bad weather, the roadway, footway and the water evacuation ditches and small bridges of 12 road segments were stuck in the mud, the State Administration of Roads (ASD) has reported.

According to the institution, the damages were inflicted in the districts of Falesti, Sangerei, Cahul, Edinet, Rezina, Floresti and Soroca.

The territorial units of the stock company Drumuri (Roads) will assess the damages caused by the rains to the construction sites and public roads which are in the period of guarantee or have been recently built.

Fifteen special equipment units and 48 road workers were involved in the process of removing the consequences of the bad weather conditions, caused to national public roads.
