Chisinau, 27 May /MOLDPRES/ - The delivery of the diesel from the humanitarian assistance provided by Romania will be made in five installments. The first two ones were carried out on 17 and 24 May and another three installments come next – on 31 May, 7 June and 14 June. The state secretary at the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry (MADRM), Mariana Grama, today made statements to this effect at a news conference on the humanitarian aid provided to Moldova by Romania, meant for the farmers hit by the 2020 year drought.

„The temporary depositing for all five trains is carried out at the oil base from the Ocnita town, where the ceremony on diesel’s reception was held on 17 May,’’ Mariana Grama said.

According to Grama, the Ocnita base was chosen, as ‘’no economic agent which carries out activities of distribution or preservation of oil products had capacity of depositing and did not express wish to participate in this important exercise.’’

The Material Reserves Agency subordinated to the Interior Ministry (MAI) is in charge of the reception, depositing, preservation, record and distribution of the diesel oil. MADRM, through the Agency of Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA), establishes the eligible quantity of diesel for each agricultural producer who asks for humanitarian assistance, based on the application submitted to AIPA.

This humanitarian assistance is part of the package of support for Moldova’s citizens, announced by Romanian President Klaus Iohannis at an official visit to Chisinau on 29 December 2020 and completes other actions, among which the donation of more than 300,000 doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccine, as well as medical equipment worth 2.3 million lei.
