Moldovan academician celebrates 75th birth anniversary

Chisinau, 28 May /MOLDPRES/- Academician Aurelian Gulea, specialist in chemistry, PhD in chemical sciences, university professor, Honored Man, winner of the National Prize is celebrating 75th anniversary today.

He was born on 28 May 1946 in Baraboi, Dondușeni district. He graduated with a gold medal from the local high school (1964). He studied at the Faculty of Chemistry of the State University of Moldova (1964-1967), after which he continued his studies at the Vitaly G. Khlopin Institute in Leningrad (1969-1972). In 1974, he defended his doctoral thesis in chemical sciences at the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry Nikolai S. Kurnakov of the Academy of Sciences in Moscow and in 1991 PhD at the same institute.

He is a winner of several national and international awards, winner of the National Award in science and technology. Holder of gold, silver and bronze medals at the world fairs of innovation, research and technology transfer in Brussels, Geneva, Seoul, Moscow, Zagreb, Sofia, Bucharest, Iasi, Budapest, Poland, Chisinau, etc., of which 3 medals gold of the World Intellectual Property Organization; seven orders, including: Knight of the Order "Gloria Muncii" (Republic of Moldova); Knight of the Order "Inventive Merit" of the Kingdom of Belgium in the rank of Commander and Grand Officer; Knight of the Order "St. John of Jerusalem ”, in the rank of Commander; Knight of the European Order of Merit in the rank of Grand Officer, etc.
