Chisinau, 28 May /MOLDPRES/- The Official Journal today published the government's decision to increase the scholarships for pupils and students by 2.3%. Larger scholarships will be enjoyed by students and pupils from higher education and technical vocational, post-secondary / post-secondary non-tertiary and secondary technical professional institutions.

Under the document, art students and talented students will receive scholarships from 380 to 560 lei. The amount of the scholarship for students in higher education and students in post-secondary and non-tertiary post-secondary technical vocational education will vary between 945 and 1015 lei.

PhD students from years I, II and III will get scholarships worth 1245, 1375 and 1420 lei, respectively. Resident doctors will also receive scholarships depending on the year of study - from 1245 to 1420 lei.

Merit scholarships: of the Republic, of the President of the Republic of Moldova, of the Government and of Gaudeamus scholarship will vary between 990 and 1640 lei.

The government has decided that students will be given a supplement equal to the difference between the scholarship established and the scholarship paid for the period from 1 January 2021 till now.

The amount provided for this purpose is 5.7 million lei.

The decision entered into force today, with its publication in the Official Journal of the Republic of Moldova.
