Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/- Hâncești and Nisporeni cities are under identifying degraded areas to be included in an urban revitalization program, supported by development partners.

A working team, made up of representatives of city halls and the Regional Development Agency (ADR) Center last week paid visits to the territory in the degraded areas of the localities. "We want to know the situation in each locality, to know the reality in each area compared to the results of the analysis of indicators. We talked to residents in the area, with representatives of public institutions and made an analysis of the problems they face. Thus, we will make a more precise assessment of the condition of the degraded areas and we will study the potential to become a revitalization area ", ADR Center sources said.

This year, Hâncești, Nisporeni and Orhei will work out Urban Revitalization Programs, due to the initiation of a new cooperation between the Polish Solidarity Fund PL Moldova Foundation and the Center Regional Development Agency. At the same time, three other cities (Ialoveni, Rezina and Straseni) will update their programs, also with the support of Polish partners.

Local partners in urban areas will benefit from support from facilitators and implementation partners - Regional Development Agencies in the country, according to the methodology approved by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment (MADRM).

In the Republic of Moldova, the urban revitalization process was initiated in 2017 by MADRM, with the support of the Ministry of Funds for Development and Regional Policy of Poland, in cooperation with Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova.
