Moldovan Technical University gets more medals at innovation fair in Romanian city

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan Technical University (UTM) has got 11 silver and ten bronze medals at the fifth issue of the International Fair of Innovation and Creative Education for Youth (ICE- USV), organized by the Electric Engineering and Science Faculty of the Stefan cel Mare University from Suceava, Romania.   

The 2021 year edition of the fair was held in mixed regime; over 40 participants from Romania and Moldova were present in Suceava, besides those who took part online.

The event’s agenda included a workshop on the subject of research on the post-pandemic period 10-InSTED (10 minutes about Innovation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Design). At the workshop, personalities from the research and creative education sector came up with a string of presentations on the multidisciplinarity in team; innovation and prospects for the designing and use of neuroprostheses, theoretic and pragmatic problems of the intellectual property, new sound-absorbing materials from waste. At the same time, UTM professor Ilie Nuca presented an approach titled, New solutions for urban passenger electric transport.     

„The action put emphasis on two sectors of maximal interest in engineering at present; medical engineering and electric vehicles; yet, it highlighted the role of the creative thinking in the university education in general. In this respect, I want to emphasize the works presented by students from Moldova: Elaboration of a book edition for the development of creativity through drawing in children aged 6-12 years; Procedure of drying peaches through forced convection; Electro-mobile for people with disabilities,’’ the manager of the organization committee, Dan Milici, said.    

As many as 105 works were registered and awarded at ICE-USV-2021 in all. They belong to Moldova, Croatia, Poland, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Turkey, Vietnam, Taiwan, Korea, Palestine and Indonesia, besides projects of young Romanians from the university centres from Sibiu, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi and Suceava. The event’s goal was to enhance the young generation’s interest in all fields of knowledge, establish linking bridges between young people with common concerns, turn to good account the elements of innovation and invention, the authors’ of which are young researchers.
