Participants in parliamentary elections have ten more days to register

Chisinau, 2 June /MOLDPRES/- June 11 is the deadline for submitting documents for registration of candidates for deputy in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.

The Central Electoral Commission warned that, in accordance with the legal provisions, the process of nominating candidates begins 60 days before the election date and ends 30 days before the election. Thus, the deadline for registration of electoral contestants is June 11, 2021. Candidates can be nominated by political parties and other socio-political organizations, electoral blocs, but also independent candidates.

Candidates for the position of deputy may be persons with the right to vote who have reached, including election day, the age of 18, hold the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova and do not fall under the law on the status of deputy in Parliament and meet other conditions provided by law.

So far, the CEC has registered nine electoral contestants, and another seven cases are under examination.
