Yellow Code of Prut river's overflowing forecast in northern Moldova

Chisinau, 16 June /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has informed about a hydrological warning of overflowing of the Prut river in meadow for Moldova’s northern region, valid till 18 June.

According to SHS, given the heavy rainfall in the upper course of the hydrographic basin of the Prut river (Ukraine), floods triggered by rains occurred. Thus, hydrologists warn ‘’about the further increase in the water level by 2.1-2.7 metres on the segment Criva-Costesti town against the level from 14 June.’’

Meteorologists said that the rainy weather would maintain all over Moldova till the end of this week, especially in the northern region. The precipitation will be accompanied by air temperatures of up to +27 Celsius degrees.
