Chisinau, 16 June /MOLDPRES/ - The acting cabinet of ministers today approved the allocation of 9.5 million lei from the government’s Reserve Fund for financing programmes of compensations underway within the First Home state programme, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

„This programme is quite important for young families from Moldova and if we endeavour to cease the exodus, especially of the young generation, I think that the First Home programme is one of the anchors which allow keeping young people in the country. Our duty is to find the means necessary to ensure the continuity of this programme,’’ acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi said.

The need of additional allocation of financial means appeared, after the Finance Ministry had recorded an increase in the number of beneficiaries, especially families with children and the allocations approved in the state budget law for 2021 No 258/2020 are practically fulfilled.

After analyzing demands for compensation approved for financing, for June 2021 alone, the Finance Ministry records an insufficiency of about 4 million lei, which may trigger the ceasing of the financing of the demands accepted in the programme and a higher risk of appearance of bad loans within the First Home state programme, because of the payment default of some beneficiaries.

To avoid these risks, the acting cabinet, under another decision, approved the increase in allocations for the First Home programme by another two million lei.

Pursuing this goal, as well as for other unforeseen needs, the cabinet ruled to supply the government’s Reserve Fund by 25.2 million lei. The financial means were identified at the expense of reserves of sub-programmes.

According to estimations by the Finance Ministry, 5,873 people will benefit from compensations programmes till late 2021.
