Moldovan president awards Order of Honour to 134 medical employees posthumously

Chisinau, 18 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has awarded the Order of Honour to a group of medical employees posthumously, the presidential press service has reported.

The distinctions were awarded to a group of 134 medical employees, as a token of homage and gratitude for the courage, devotion and spirit of sacrifice proved in the carrying out of the medical act, putting at risk their lives for saving other human lives on the period of the COVID-19 pandemic. The list includes physicians, medical assistants, surgeon’s or doctor’s assistants, hospital attendants, midwives, pharmacists, laboratory assistants, university professors or health centres’ directors who died during the pandemic.

The distinctions were offered under presidential decree, on the occasion of the day of the medical employee and pharmacist, marked in Moldova on the third Sunday of June.
