Chisinau, 24 June /MOLDPRES/- Be Our Guest, Again! - with this message, the entrepreneurs in the tourism industry have launched a new action to promote tourism, after the pandemic period. The new campaign is a continuation of efforts to promote the tourism potential of the Republic of Moldova, carried out in 2015-2021 by the Moldova Competitiveness Project funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the Governments of Sweden and the United Kingdom, in collaboration with the National Association for Domestic Tourism and Reception (ANTRIM).

According to ANTRIM, the crisis caused by the Covid-19 virus has dramatically affected the tourism sector. Travel restrictions have caused an unprecedented decline in the number of international tourists worldwide and a loss of global revenue of 1.3 trillion dollars. In the Republic of Moldova, the total loss of revenue from the tourism industry is estimated at about 350 million dollars.

"The new campaign is a tribute to the people in the field of tourism and their courage, they will be the ones who will relaunch tourism in Moldova ", said Diana Lazăr, deputy head of the Competitiveness Project in Moldova funded by USAID, Government of Sweden and Great Britain.

The campaign was launched in mid-June with a video spot "which includes the optimism and joy of reunion with the long-awaited tourists, and with Moldovans from everywhere." "The protagonists of the campaign are the hosts of rural boarding houses and wineries, which have received thousands of tourists over the years, bringing the news to us overseas and countries, and who are ready to open their doors again with an authentic offer full of soul.

ANTRIM announces the relaunch of tourism in Moldova and invites visitors to discover Moldovan tourism offers, in conditions of maximum safety, most tourist destinations already implement the international standard Safe Travel, implemented in Moldova by ANTRIM under the accreditation of the Global Council for Travel and Tourism (WTTC). We aim to revive domestic tourism, local tourists from Romania, Ukraine, Poland, as well as to raise awareness of tourists who have visited Moldova and who could return or can promote the destination on social networks ", Victoria Bucătaru, ANTRIM executive director said.
