Chisinau, 24 June /MOLDPRES/ - The sides’ delegations today held a meeting in Bender to discuss the problems in the Security Zone. The ordinary weekly meeting was to be led by Russia’s representatives, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.

In the beginning of the meeting, the delegations were scheduled to have discussions on the situation emerged beginning with 23 June afternoon at one of the posts of the Transnistrian structures, illegally placed at the entrance into Bender on the road from the Varnita village.

Tiraspol’s representatives demanded, as ultimatum, the consideration of this infringement under distorted aspect. Moldova’s delegation insisted that the servicemen move on the spot for the regulatory documentation of the present situation and the subject should be discussed along with other issues of increased interest at the ordinary meeting, according to the regulation on the work of the Joint Control Commission.

Discontented with the non-acceptance of their ultimatum demands, Tiraspol’s representatives walked out of the negotiations room.

As a result, the ordinary meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) was compromised.

Moldova’s delegation disapproves of the Transnistrian side’s attempts to impose categorical unilateral conditions in the work of the Joint Control Commission.

Moldova’s delegation to JCC reiterates its position based on the need to maintain stability and public order in the Security Zone, remove any factors of tension, ensure the free movement and carry out other fundamental rights of the citizens.
