Chisinau, 30 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Embassy of Moldova in the State of Israel on 29 June held an anniversary party dedicated to the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Moldova and Israel.

According to a press release by the Moldovan Embassy, a remarkable moment of the event was the official inauguration of the Chamber of Commerce Israel – Moldova (CCIM). Organizers said that work had been carried out on this project during two years and the pandemic triggered by the new-type coronavirus, through its restrictions, caused a significant delay in the process of CCIM’s opening.

On this occasion, acting Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi conveyed a greeting message to the participants in the event, thereby highlighting the relevance of the Moldovan-Israeli bilateral relations and the importance of the inauguration of the Israel-Moldova Chamber of Commerce, reiterating the need to implement the bilateral economic projects.

Moldova’s Ambassador to the State of Israel Gabriela Moraru said that the Moldovan authorities hoped that the ‘’Chamber of Commerce Israel-Moldova will become a factor due to boost the economic and commercial relations between the two states. A chamber of commerce is always a platform opened for communication and tackling of diverse aspects between the business environments from the partner countries, a platform for B2B meetings and, I am sure, it will have its beneficial role for strengthening the cooperation between our states,’’ the diplomat said.

At the inauguration of CCIM, Ambassador Gabriela Moraru thanked all those who contributed to the setting up of the Chamber of Commerce, addressing particularly the Israeli Federation of the Chambers of Commerce, Finance Ministry, Foreign Affairs Ministry and specialized State Agencies from Israel.

It is worth mentioning that the board appointed Vasile Yalamov, born in Moldova, as CCIM president, as he proved exceptional abilities in management of business in the State of Israel. Orit Kleiman, also born in Moldova, became executive director of CCIM.

The schedule of the events dedicated to the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Moldovan-Israeli diplomatic relations was completed with the inauguration of an exhibition by painters from Moldova Antonina and Vitalie Grisciuc. The fine artists from Chisinau exhibited for the public from Israel a string of works titled, Hello, Israel! Shalom, Moldova!

The Moldovan painters, known not only in Moldova, but also in EU member states, in Canada, USA and Japan, have become loved in Israel, as they staged, with the support of Moldova’s Embassy in Israel, exhibitions in the cities of Tel-Aviv, Ashdod, Haifa, Ashkelon.

A memorable presence of the party was also artist Dumitru Pocitari, with a symphony recital. It is worth mentioning that the artist debuted as soloist being conducted by Vladimir Spivakov and the Zubin Mehta Orchestra. Afterwards, he won more medals at diverse international contests in Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Romania, Russia and Ukraine. Dumitru Pocitari was born in Moldova and starting from 2014 he has been working as first violin of the Israeli Philharmonic.   In 2019, Pocitari was appointed concertmaster of the Israeli Philharmonic.

The diplomatic relations between Moldova and the State of Israel were established on 22 June 1992.
