Moldovan head of state discusses with representatives of vine-growing, wine-making sectors

Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today discussed, on online format, with representatives of Moldova’s vine-growing and wine-making sectors. The wine-makers referred to the problems faced and proposed solutions, which can be enforced only with the assistance of a responsible government and interested in the development of the branch, the presidential press service has reported.   

„Among the most frequent subjects tackled, there is the need of supply with raw material through the support by the state of the increase in the areas of plantations with vine varieties; creation of a sustainable system of insurances and undertaking of other measures for attenuating the impact of the climate changes; increase in the subsidies and ensuring the access to cheap sources of financing; construction of irrigation systems,’’ Maia Sandu said.

The Moldovan president assured the wine-makers that she would approach this subject with the next government. ‘’We established that the state must contribute more, including through its diplomatic missions, to the promotion of the Moldovan products abroad and I promised that I will demand this from the competent institutions,’’ the head of state added.
