Ukraine set mandatory registration of non-resident carriers of goods

Chisinau, 2 July /MOLDPRES/- The National Motor Transport Agency (ANTA) announced that operators carrying out international road transport of goods on the territory of Ukraine from 1 July are required to comply with the provisions of the Ukrainian Customs Code on mandatory registration of non-residents transporting goods under customs control on the territory of Ukraine in the context of import, export or transit operations. The lack of registration will be the basis for the refusal of customs clearance of goods and the crossing of the Ukrainian border.

According to ANTA, for registration, carriers have the opportunity to fill in a special application directly at the control point at entry or exit from Ukraine, with the mandatory presentation of a copy of the registration certificate of the legal entity, issued by the competent authority of the country of registration.

The application may also be submitted in advance by post to any necessary customs office, in person or through the authorized person or customs broker, with the mandatory presentation of a copy of the certificate of registration of the legal person, issued by the competent authority of the country. registration. The application may be filled out in Ukrainian or English.

After entering in the information system of the Customs Service of Ukraine the data presented in the application, the transport operator shall be assigned a temporary registration number within 1 hour. This temporary registration number will allow the carrier to carry out all customs formalities and procedures without restrictions. A permanent registration number will be assigned within 5 working days.

If the application does not contain the required data or if the carrier has already been registered in the information system, the Customs Service of Ukraine may refuse to assign a pre-registration number.
