Moldovan electoral body unveils preliminary results of elections

Chisinau, 12 July /MOLDPRES/- The Central Electoral Commission presented this morning the official preliminary results of yesterday's parliamentary elections. Thus, after processing 2,148 (99.86%) reports from the 2,150 open sections, 52.72% of the voters voted for the Action and Solidarity Party, the Bloc of Communists and Socialists was elected with 27.23% and 5.75% voted for the Shor Party.

CEC head Dorin Cimil said that today, the data from three polling stations in Germany and the USA are expected. He added that 1.47 million voters ran in Sunday's election. The turnout was about 48 percent.

Over 205,000 voters turned out to vote in the polling stations abroad. In the 41 polling stations set up for the citizens with the right to vote in the localities on the left bank of the Dniester, about 30 thousand voters voted.

CEC data show that 7.36% of voters who came to the polls yesterday are between 18 and 25 years old; 23.70% - are 26-40 years old, 24.70% - 41-55 years old, and the most numerous voters are the elderly - over 33 percent.

According to preliminary information, the results are the following:

Building Europe at Home Party - PACE - 1.28%;

Joint Action Party - Civic Congress - 0.77%;

RENATO USATII electoral bloc - 4.1%;

Shor Party - 5.75%;

Action and Solidarity Party - 52.72%;

Electoral bloc of Communists and Socialists - 27.24%;

Movement of Professionals Hope - Nadezhda - 0.19%;

Democratic Party of Moldova - 1.81%;

Dignity and Truth Platform Party - 2.33%;

National Unity Party - 0.45%;

Democracy at Home Party - 1.45%;

WE Political Party - 0.1%;

Party for Development and Consolidation of Moldova - 0.43%;

ALLIANCE FOR THE UNION OF ROMANIANS Party - 0.49%;

Green Ecologist Party - 0.08%;

Law and Justice Party - 0.1%;

People's Power Party - 0.11%;

Party of Regions of Moldova - 0.09%;

Patriots of Moldova party - 0.06%;

PARTY OF CHANGE - 0.17%;

NEW HISTORICAL OPTION party - 0.01%;

Labor Party - 0.1%;

Veaceslav Valico (independent candidate) - 0.17%.

On 11 July, snap parliamentary elections were held in the Republic of Moldova.
